So there is this PS2 game called Rogue Galaxy. It is a sci-Fi RPG. The graphics are anime inspired and the story seems very intriguing.
Have any of you guys gotten this game? I'm so tempted to get it but I'm trying to be hopeful and patient that it'll come out as a Greatest Hits title.

I rented it...wasn't my cup of tea. Gameplay was fine and all, but there was too much "story" and not enough "gameplay" for me.

I figure that the whole point of playing CRPGs was for the story. Was the CG video too long as was in the case of XenoSaga? The reviews I read said that there was lots of side quests and minigames. The "put multiple weapons together to form a more ultimate weapon" feature looks nice. Also, I was led to believe it was more of an action RPG where your character is fighting in real time.

The fighting is real time...and has some nice bits to it.
I dunno...I just didn't like the excessive amounts of cutscenes and the like. Admittedly, I'm a bad CRPGer.

Have been playing this game for several days now. The death toll in horrendous! It took me a while to get used to combat but even after the initial learning curve, I still find myself "eating" resurrection potions like candy. One aspect I like about combat is the different challenges given during some fights (ala FF Tactics). The cutscenes seem to be about the right length for me and they are a joy to watch.
I've become obsessed with mastering my weapons. There's a Pokomon-like side quest but the mastering of weapons is already bogging me down and causing the story to move much slower than I would like.
