I cannot wait until Privateer Press releases this game! I even have my nieces excited about it. The minis look awesome! Cannot wait until the Fall! About MonsterpocalypseMonsterpocalypse is a fast moving, action packed strategy game played with high quality collectible miniatures portraying the most fearsome giant monsters ever imagined! Each battle takes place in a city, which you and your opponent construct by placing models of buildings on a city map. Players will then build their force from their respective collection of models. Each force will consist of a giant monster model, and several supporting units (tanks, flying vehicles, creatures-depending upon which of the themed factions you decide to play). Purchasing Booster Boxes will expand your collection, giving you more tactical options and abilities to better suit your strategy. When the battle begins, you command your monster and lead your units into the city to hunt down and destroy your opponent's monster. To accomplish your mission, your monster and units each have weapons and abilities that are activated by special dice. Monsters can increase their power throughout the game by smashing buildings and destroying enemy units. When two monsters fight each other, the results are devastating-they can throw each other across the city, slam into buildings, and suplex each other into radioactive rubble! The last monster standing wins the game! www.monsterpocalypsegame.com/default.php

That sounds pretty neat but it is a little too late. I've already commited to Dragon Ball CCG and still awaiting my preorder for Mutant Chronicles (former) CMG.

That sounds pretty neat but it is a little too late. I've already commited to Dragon Ball CCG and still awaiting my preorder for Mutant Chronicles (former) CMG. Yeah well I am a sucker for Kaiju so this is right up my alley and is also a great game to introduce my nieces to since they are also into the giant monster movies. Dr. Banner use to play Dragon Ball CCG back when it first came out and still plays from time to time but he stopped due to other interests and there might have been another reason. I will have to ask him and get him to post. Mutant Chronicles the miniatures game by FFG looks good however with the chance of getting back into Heroclix and still collecting Star Wars minis Monsterpocalypse is the only other minis game I am definately going to be picking up. I noticed they just posted the next faction of the starting groups and it is the Martian Menace! Flying saucers, Tripods & Heat Rays....Oh My!!

So I read the rules for this online on the main site and this game looks very cool. Very different strategies when it comes to the different factions and I like the dice resource mechanic and just the overall feel and way the game plays. Cannot wait to finally play the game in October.
My nieces are interested as well so gonna drag them into it as well. I have an idea for a campaign and will be unleashing the idea right here on the boards once the game is in my hands.
Should be great! Anyone else thinking of playing this?

I've heard that they are offering an ultra rare if you buy a case at your FLGS. I'm not sure if that means you have to buy 12 or 24 boosters but either way that is a lot especially if you can only get that through a game store. Although you and your brother can split the cost but otherwise still have to fight it out MURPG style for the ultra rare..hehe.
Are the buildings separate from the monsters or are they packagesd together? I may pick up some of the building if they are separate.

I'm not too worried about getting the Mega rare via games stores really. This was meant to be a fun game to play and get my nieces into. The monster boosters with only contain a monster and its Ultra form. These things are apparently pretty big. And there are also building boosters that contain a building or two and some smaller monster units.
Each Starter comes with a standard set of stuff to get you started however the Monsters in the starters I think are the only random thing. I am gonna start off with getting two starters and a case of Monsters boosters and a case of Building boosters. Apparently the distribution of minis is better than the Star Wars minis boosters and they are not promising anything but they did say that you could end up with a complete set of Monsterpocalypse within 2-4 cases. Expansion sets will come out every 4 months.
I know I am excited to start playing!

So got my Monsterpocalypse goodies and wow great looking minis and the quality overall is stellar but I knew this going in as Privateer's Horde and Warmachine games are great as are the minis for those.
Looking forward to giving it a play this weekend and man I look forward to the Kaiju battles to rock the cities of the world!
