When a power states "this remains in effect while the character concentrates on it", how do you represent that concentration?
What we've done is this: - when a power (or stunt) states that it needs concentration, the player puts a card from his hand on the table in front of him. This card is still available for play, but the power remains only in effect while the card is not played. This means that when things get tight, the player can choose to use the card or keep the power up.
For example, maintaining a forcefield requires me to put my 5 of Agility on the table. I can play either of my remaining two cards like normal, but if I ever use that 5 of Agility (whether as damage, or to dodge, or whatever) the forcefield drops.

Well its not something you need a mechanical aspect to represent. If character dodges, switch powers, or change actions in ANYWAY the power ends.
If they take damage for example, I've seen people make a will power action to "keep concentrating through the pain"

While El Machinae has an interesting approach, I agree with Silverlion (Tim). Further, I like Tim's idea to make a Willpower action to "concentrate through the pain". I would like more actions where Willpower is used, but seldom do I find them.
For example, your hero is trying to run and catch a bank robber who has taken off on foot. Your hero is exhausted, but wants to keep pushing through. Is this a Strength action for physical endurance, an Agility action because of speed, or a Willpower action to push yourself beyond your physical limits?
