One of the thing that bothered me was the use of Nullification against a hero with a super-human ability.
Technically, the rules state that Nullification can only be used against a power.
But in fact some super-human abilities are powers.
For example, in the comics, when Spider-Man got his powers nullified, he loses his spider-strength and his incredible agility.
So I devised the following power:
Super-Ability
Trump: as chosen ability
Exemplar: Thing, Spider-Man
Related Powers: Ability Boost
Super-Ability represents the super-human ability granted by your powers.
Like Ability Boost, Super-Ability increase the chosen ability of your hero. But unlike Ability Boost, this power is permanent, therefore always affecting your hero, and the ability is only increased to the amount of super-ability.
This power should be taken once for each ability you want to increase.
Limit: Transformation-linked: Your hero abilities are increased only if he transforms himself. This transformation takes one exchange and is reversed in the same amount of time at will. The transformation is also reversed if the power is negated. (This is inspired by Hulk or the Thing.)
Limit: Power-linked: Your hero increased ability is relative to another power. The increase is nullified if the corresponding power is negated. (This is inspired by Rogue.)
This power has no stunt and I think it should not have any. (Or only the Hulk's "Strongest there is".)
With this power, I can easily handle the difference between natural and supernatural Force. So, I can negates Spider-Man Spider-Strength.
Then, technically, a player can increase his natural strength (to a maximum of 10) or his Super-strength with his response bonus.
And for creation purpose, I give the player 2 cards more.
