I've begun an Excel spreadsheet of all the posts done on the Yahoo Boards. I have 10 of 12,000 done. This is going to take longer than I thought...

! Let me know if/when you come across any old stats of mine...=) Old characters? The way I'm setting it up, you'll be able to sort by member, topic, or topic type ("Characters", for example) - so finding all your old work won't be a problem.

What sucks is when I find an interesting link (for example, JMSteele had a write-up for Robocop and Terminator on his website), but the link is no longer good.

Alas, I don't have any good spreadsheet programs and OpenOffice takes way too long to download on my connection...but I'll sure give it a crack again sometime soon.

OpenOffice - what I use - allows you to turn documents/spreadsheets into .pdf's. I could do it that way. It takes away one clear benefit of it being a spreadsheet, of course, and that's the quick indexing. I've tried thinking of a number of ways to approach archiving the board and none of them work. I've never tackled a project of the type or size. Any ideas?

Good news first: After posting that, I found a way to see old sites. It's a great website I heard about, called the "Internet Archive". www.archive.org/web/web.phpThe bad news: While it saves old websites, it doesn't save pictures - which is what Calel/JMSteele had his write-ups saved as.
