"San Guardia is the shining jewel of the western world and trend setting vision of the future. But among the clean streets and bright lights, there are those who would tear the common man's way of life atwain! Your job, as San Guardia's protectors, it's to make sure this doesn't happen and that those responsible are sent where they belong: the big house!"
It's the year 2006; but not one you'd recognize. With the technological revolution occurring many years earlier than in our own (boring) Earth, thanks to super intelligent metahumans like Tim Bates (who formed Macrosoft, a PC software industry giant, a few years later). Oh yea, lets not forget about all the people leaping, flying, teleporting and running around super powers. That would be the one little minor difference.
The streets of San Guardia stay clean of trash thanks to the cities sweeper-bots that operate 24 hours a day all year 'round! Today, highly sophisticated robots are just coming more and more into the mainstream as the popular X-9 model "housekeeping robots" are flying off warehouse shelves faster than Lark Industries can make them, despite their 'glitches'.
But there are all kinds of trash that the sweeper-bots can't pick up. Villains of all types scheme and plot as they devise nefarious schemes to take over the world or the city, rob backs for wealth or to fund their latest experiments...whatever it is that motivates them at the moment. Sometimes you'll be taking on relative (but still dangerous) small timers like Animeniac, the Japanese anime fanboy and master tinkerer who torments the city with his mechas and lovely (albeit hypnotized by his fiendish Headscramblers) squad of ninja check henchmen. Or maybe tangle with the robot mastermind Mechanoid, who seeks to replace all obsolete humans. Then again you may take on one of the really big baddies such as Brainstorm, alleged alien with mastery over the weather as well as Level 5 mental powers who once brought the city to it's knees during the Crisis of '98!
There's TONS more to investigate and discover, as well as the potential for a rich personal life filled with fun for any secret identity...or not-so-secret identity. San Guardia, the biggest and most beautiful metropolis on the west coast. How will you make your mark?

That hopefully got you interested. As you may see from the above, I'm going for a fairly Four-Color game with a pinch of light-hearted adventure and just a dash of the comical and wierd for fun. Now lets get down to the more technical stuff.
Firstly, I'll be running this game under the old TSR Marvel Superheroes game (I'm pretty new to it so cut me a little slack, eh?). It's pretty simple to get a grasp of an it's free right here. The only difference is with the Mutant origin. If you choose/roll Mutant, you have to make a true mutant with some kind of freaky looks (this isn't the Marvel Universe after all and normal looking mutants wouldn't get any flack here). We'll also be playing on mIRC.
Second, I have one unflappable, concrete rule that shall not be broken: you will NOT kill unless there is NO other choice (i.e. suneaters and such). You're heroes and you're damned sure expected to act as one. Remember kids, when superheroes kill villains, it starts a slippery slope that ends in metahuman overlords ruling over their mundane slaves, and the world would rather have NO supers than see that outcome. Most villains don't want to kill anyone but there are always those so vile that nothing is too evil to achieve their sick desires.
I'd like to get at least 5 people for the team. Then I'd like us to all figure out a time to get together and draw up characters and a team concept. Expect to figure out questions like why are you all together? Are you a government team, corporate, family, teens? What's the team's theme, if any? While we're all together we can talk more about the tone, what times we're all avaliable and whatever concerns/desires (special romances, arch-enemies, rivals, etc.) everyone has for their characters.
So if you find yourself interested, respond here or email me at megamanfan@gmail.com.
