So I had picked up Champions: New Millennium and all the splat books (there were only 2 right?) for cheap ($15 total). I really liked the level of detail for Bay City but I didn't have much patience for trying to figure out how to create characters.
That was several years ago. I got curious again seeing if it would be fun to use in RIFTS (the fuzion system that is). The way they grouped the powers don't annoy me as much as before and I managed to go through chargen and understand it.
Anyone have exp with this iteration of Champions? I understand that either people really hated it or really liked it. There didn't seem to be any middle ground.
Anyway, your thoughts?

I owned it...don't really remember my thoughts on it, though.
Seemed kinda neat, but I couldn't get anyone to play, and I was at the phase in my life where if no one wanted to play it, I'd get rid of it if the opportunity came up.

Since Eden Studios is taking FOREVER to release Beyond Human. I am actually tempted to pick up Champions. I want something different than MURPG (which I love) and Heroes Unlimited (which gets clunky).

I'm on a huge Mutants & Masterminds kick myself (hopes Tim isn't reading)...its lite enough that I can grasp it without breaking my brain, and crunchy enough that some of my friends that hated SAGA would be willing to play.

It is...its, like, all the potential of the D20 system with all the crust and crap busted off of it.
