So how many still play their copies of DC Heroes? I have both the 1985 and 1989 versions. I know we played it off and on but never really got into it as much as I really hoped. I am seriously thinking of running it again even with a smaller group. I know some have asked (Destroyer being one) at various times to run Classic Marvel or even run another table top game of the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 game I had been running via message board.
But I am seriously thinking of running this again. Now the only decision will be which version? The JLA fighting Brainiac covered '85 version or the sleek and grim black boxed '89 version with a brooding Batman and an ever standing proud Superman behind him on the cover.

I was never fully sold on this game, and I don't know if it was the system, or the fact that I'm a bigger Marvel guy than a DC one, and so I wasn't as able to "fill in the blanks" for the DCU.

I have one guy that we played Star Wars D6 with that loved DC '89. And ran it a lot. Alas I was never around to partake. I ran the '85 edition for a sort time but just could not get my group into it. And I think it was the same deal. They were more Marvel fans than DC. I like both but I tend to have more DC favourites than Marvel. I guess I am always torn between the two. But I would love to run DC again especially '89 since I have never ran it. Owned it since it came out and never once played it. Man, that is depressing to think about....

Haha...I no longer buy games expecting to play them. I get them to own and read, and if I play them, that's just a bonus.

Well neither do I but it would be nice. I pretty much buy the books read them and come up with ideas if I ever was to run <enter game system/genre here> then take a sigh and add it to the gaming shelf. Hmm maybe I will see if Destroyer would be interested in the odd DC game?(when he can find the time from his non-existant days off.)

I own the Batman version of the game (technically 1.5 edition) which I prefer as its self contained, tight and easily use-able version.

God, that describes me perfectly. It feels sad, but at least someone else does the same. heh
I just bought three role-playing books that I'm sure I'll never use, and I have three more that I'm going to order that... well, I'll probably never use those, either, except for my own personal enjoyment.
It's funny how many hours I can read all these books knowing that, but I still love doing it.

I always saw the Batman version and was going to pick it up but never did. And yeah it is great to know your not alone in the "buying just to read group" of role-players/Game Masters. ;D

I am desperately seeking a copy of the Second Edition box set! I look on Ebay, but all I find is the Batman RPG (Which I already own) and several supplements... I would give my left... hand (what did you think I was going to say) for the box set (with cards)! ;D

I like the cards in the second release a lot better as they are printed on playing card material. I am hoping to get a game going in this as well. Maybe another game I could get going on the boards here. So I have a Marvel and DC game to appease the masses. Probably use actual characters since it speeds up having to go through a character creation process, that can take up a lot of precious playing time. Probably run a Gotham Knights or Hush type of game.

Well let me get the Marvel Universe one up and running and then I will break into the DC Heroes and come up with something. And yes Tommy gets Robin in all his Tim Drake-ness.
