Well from what I'm led to believe, both worlds have lost some continuity lately, what I follow comics for (when I did follow them) are the characters.
For me, each particular storyline is a story unto itself, I've stopped trying to piece one writers continuity with anothers (not many writers particularly care who is going to be following them). I like the high adventure feel of DC and the general real-world interaction of Marvel.
