Is anyone a fan of the newest Hawkman series? I was really into it before money got tight and I had to stop buying comics. I'm curious how it's going these days.

Not sure Taf. I am only recently getting back into DC again. I have all my old comics but there are some that have either been lost, taken or were tossed in the garbage. So now with a lot of older issues being compiled into a graphic novel format it is easier to buy them and get reaquainted with old stories as well as the newer stuff being released in this format as well.
Since Destroyer is getting back into the Marvel end of it. I will get back into the DC end again. I am really interested in the new Justice League and Justice Dept comics. And looking at buying the coffee table version of Alex Ross' Kingdom Come.

DC has always been my choice. I'm not sure why. It's not that I really think DC is superior or inferior. I enjoy both DC and Marvel and I think that they both have a lot going for them, and in some areas leave a lot to be desired. But I guess since the days of reading Superman as a little kid I've always been sort of a DC loyalist, so if someone asks me my preference I usually say 'DC'.
I really enjoyed the Hawkman series, and I look forward to getting back into it when I have some extra money to blow. Hawkman to me is a very interesting character with a lot of depth beyond "A failed experiment turned Bob Jones into Abracadabraman, and now he must balance his superpowers with his every day identity blah blah..." I enjoy those kinds of heroes too, but when I read Hawkman it really seemed unique.
