Did anyone check out that movie, Sky High? I thought it might be kind of lame, so I passed on it in theaters. Then I seen it in the movie store yesterday and gave it a shot. I thought it was a GREAT movie and pretty original!
I mean, yeah, Xavier has his super school, but not like this!
Just like any High School, the students are broken into categories - like the jocks, the geeks, the cheerleaders, etc. - but this school is broken into two types: heroes (people who have really useful powers, like super strength or flight) and sidekicks (those who have powers like turning into a immobile puddle of goo, or can glow).
I don't want to ruin the movie by giving away the plot, as it has a great twist at the end, but I just really recommend it for anyone into superheroes. Overall, I give the movie an 8.5 out of 10.
For anyone else who has seen it, what did you think?

I never got around to getting it while I worked at Blockbuster, but I should have, because I bet my kid would like it, if nothing else.
I did see Tim Allen's Zoom, which wasn't too shabby.

Well, believe me, it's better than you think.
I haven't seen Zoom. I actually forgot about that movie altogether.

Deal. Although, your review of Zoom was "not too shabby" whereas mine is "Great! Better than you'd think".

Well, its a Tim Allen movie. I can only go as high as "not too shabby".
For a Tim Allen movie, it IS "Great! Better than you'd think".

I actually liked Sky High and Zoom both are highly entertaining flicks especially if your looking for something with some campy superhero stuff. I also picked up the old School cartoon series Hero High on DVD. Watched it as a kid and it is still as I remember it.
