So I made a trade over on the RPGsite...and wound up with a ton of new stuff...so much new stuff, in fact, that I am experiencing overload.
Burning Wheel Monsters and Other Childish Things Scion: Demigod Fear, Itself Modern Backdrops Normal, Texas Quickplay Witch Hunter: The Invisible World
Plus I bought me a copy of Mutants & Masterminds Ultimate Power, in case I ever run it...
And they all showed up in my mailbox on Saturday....COMPLETE overload.

I'm not familiar with any of them but I heard or skimmed the book at my FLGS.
Burning Wheel looks interesting and combat sounds neat but I'm worried how it would feel in actual play. Did you get both books or just one of them? There is also a monster manual for it.
Scion. I almost bought it since my FLGS was selling it for like $20. It looks neat but I wouldn't know how to run such a game.
Witch Hunter. I've heard people were psyched for it to come out but I haven't heard much about it for a while now.
I'm waiting for Anima the rpg to come out....

I got the rule book and character burner...
Scion: Demigod is entirely meant to be used with Scion: Hero as the starting point, and you upgrade from there...

Those who will be picking up the Mouse Guard RPG will find that it is an offshoot of the Burning Wheel System. Nice haul there Brownell!

So far the big winners from the pile are Modern Backdrops (which surprised me...d20 Modern supplement, but its really just a bunch of towns with plot hooks, so they work for nearly any modern supernatural game)...and Monsters and Other Childish Things...
Like, Monsters and Other Childish Things is so amazing that I think we're at least doing character generation this Sunday.
Unfortunately, so far, I haven't been wowed by any of the rest of the stuff...Witch Hunter looks AWESOME, but the writing is so dense that I am put off...Burning Wheel's character generation looks great, but the gameplay looks less so...Fear, Itself is written with a more pretentious tone than game book I have read in recent memory...and Scion looked great, but I'm having trouble with the "White Wolf-ness" of it.
So the haul may not be GREAT...
But may have been worth it for Monsters alone.

Sadly I think you were cheated Then again I'm not fond of ORE, or Burning Wheel. Just not my thing.

I've been looking at picking up Monsters and Other Childish Things... but just never got around to it. I might have to now.

Monsters, to me, does look like a lot of fun...and may have been worth the trade by itself...worst case scenario, I'll trade most of this haul off for something else, until I'm happy with the end results...=)

WHAT!
Hopefully you kept the core FR setting book though. That book has become the standard by which I judge other setting books now.
FR is one of my favorite fantasy settings, the other being Iron Kingdoms.

Nah, I ditched all but the monsters book...because I can hold onto monsters and convert them to something else later.
I used to like FR...but my love for it disappeared with novel driven metaplots.

Forgotten Realms & Iron Kingdoms are my favourite of all the D20 books that had come out. I don't have many of the FR D20 books. Had I known you were selling Tommy I would have bought them off of you. Luckily I was able to get my hands on all the IK stuff and have been working on a Unisystem Classic conversion of it since I like the Unisystem much more than the D20 system for IK.

I wasn't selling...just straight trading.
Zachary the First from RPGsite and RPG.net was getting back into FR and had a bunch of stuff (the above) that I was interested in but hadn't been willing to spend the money on yet...soooo swap.

Mad Titan, all you need is the FR corebook. That book had basically all the info you needed and all you had to do was fill in the details.
I heard what they were doing with 4th ed FR and I less than enthusiastic.
I couldn't part with any of my RPGs. I haven't regreted buying any of them and I like going back and rereading the books (RIFTS anyone?).

I have the main book Oni...I was just looking at getting my hands on the a couple of the other more useful books like the critters book and the like. So I figure if I can find them on the cheap then I will grab them.
