I know it's best to play with around four players, but sometimes you play with what you got - in my case, just one player (hopefully more in the future).
But in the meantime, my one player has a unique character that he wants to play. Think Wonder Man (except a stuntman instead of an actor), but his powers are of Flight, Super Speed, and Super Strength (and toughness).
Sounds easy enough, right? Well, he wants to gain these powers through kinetics. So, the more he moves, the more energy he builds up to use these powers. Further, he wants Flight to take up the most energy - so its possible if he has a lot of kinetic energy built up, but it could become problematic at the right times (to read: the wrong times).
Lastly, he can store this energy, but not for a good length of time (like maybe a half hour or some such).
Any ideas? We're talking about playing this Friday or Saturday, so any help before then would be great! Thanks!

While I have the book, I haven't had the chance to play it so I may not be much help. I'll have to dig up my book.

Looking up Kinetics on p159, there were a bunch of stunts that were close to what your player wanted.
One of the Stunt was Flight
Two is to tweak the stunt, Momentum to affect the character instead of an object
Three, look at the Absorption Power stunts for Super Strength (absorption boost).
For toughness, there can be a variety of ways to go about it. He can use the Absorption conversion stunt to make his body harder (ie less prone to damage), use the Absorption stunt as described under Kinetics Control, or go the force field way.
Anyway, hope that at least the above helps you a little.

Thanks, but after having a story written up for him, I come to find out that he and I were imaging two different things for the hero. So, I asked him the best that I could that, although you might have a dozen little powers, when people think of your hero, what powers do you want to come to mind? Give me a few things to focus on so that I can help build stories around your hero. So, instead of describing a big guy who can smash through walls, fly, and run at fast speeds - he tells me that he's a really hard-to-damage tough guy, of average height and average build, with super speed. So, there goes the interdimensional Tournament of Titans on Mojo's publicized TV show.

How many characters out there are professionally involved in the movies?
Wonder Man. Possibly Mysterio?

Okay, let me just ask this then:
How does Absorption work? How is it different than Resistance?
And if you have stunts like Power Storage, how does that work?
For reference, Absorption reads:
You can absorb a certain form of damage (examples include fire damage, cold damage, or kinetic damage). Absorption of different damage types must be chosen separately. Any attacks made in the specified mode inflict no damage up to the intensity of the Absorption. Damage totals greater than the power's intensity is suffered as if the Absorption were additional defense.
Power Storage reads:
You can store any intensity of energy while concentrating. It can be meted out all at once or in pieces, dropping the intensity by the amount discharged. Storage takes an exchange to complete. While you hold energy, you can't absorb energy.

The difference between Resistance, Energy Conversion, Absorption and Energy Reflection is not quite clear. Those power are very similar. As I understand: - Resistance is just an additional protection. - Absorbtion allows a character to convert the absorbed energy for boosting his body (through a stunt), either by healing himself or by increasing his Strength. - Energy Conversion allows a character to transform an energy and convert it to another kind of energy. But it needs another power (generally Energy Blast) to channel the stored power. - Energy Reflection allows a character to absorb and redirect a given energy form. THis power do not require another power to redirect the stored power.
So the difference is where the energy go: - with Resistance, nowhere: it dissipates. - with Absorption, in the body: the energy is absorbed. - with Energy Reflection, it is expulsed without change. - with Energy Conversion, it is converted and eventually reused by another power.
And the stunt Power Storage, can be used to make several shots with the energy comming from a given blast or to keep the energy for a later use. Otherwise, the character needs to redirect the absorbed energy immediately (i.e., in the next exchange) or will be burned by it.
I hope I'm clear.
