So Flying Frog Productions (creators of LNOE) just released their A Touch of Evil game. And I have to say this is another great game that oozes theme and drops you right into a very cinematic game something I think has a very Hammer Horror feel. You can check the game out here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/35815Really like the game and of course it has those staples that folks will be familiar with from the LNOE releases but also adds some new mechanics as well. Really nice game. I find it somewhere between Fury of Dracula and Arkham Horror lite. But very much an entertaining game in its own right. Mary Beth adds her talents to a very submerssive/ambient soundtrack as she did on LNOE and there are even some LNOE undertones to some of the tunes which seems to really tie the two games together into the same universe considering that LNOE's Jake Cartwright's ancestor Heinrich Cartwright is in the game and Drifting is something of a family tradition. And yes Heinrich starts at the crossroads. Even his mini has an axe in hand. The best part is they got the same actor to play Heinrich that played Jake. Awesome! So definately check this game out for sure.

The core product doesn't interest me at the moment. I tried AH and it bored me to tears. AToE may be shorter in length but I've heard that, like AH, it drags with the increase in number of players.
I'll reevaluate it when or if an expansion comes out.

I guess it depends on who your playing it with and if it is dragging then those folks must be really freaking boring themselves. Cause this game is great! I really like the aspects of the game and the theme is just oozing out of this. Flying Frog once again hits one out of the park for me. I look forward to some expansions in the future. If you can at least try and play a game cause going on what other people say solely means you can miss out on a lot of great games.

Played this again on the weekend and man had a great game that was super suspenseful as we were not sure if we the Heroes would win or the evil Scarecrow would envelope the town of Shadowbrook forever. I am thinking during the winter months to build a 3D version of this board and call it Project Shadowbrook much like my Last Night on Earth one Project Woodinvale.
