anyone know of a conversion for measuring distances and area in saga, we have a problem in our group. how far can a blast actually go? basiically I have gravity control and it says you can affect anything in line of sight, but what if i have 360 degree vision and xray vision? also if i have telescopic vision can i affect up to that range or up to my power range, it gets a little confusing when we play.
also does gravity control stop at walls? or is it just what i can see? again xray vision is the fly in the soup here.
we're trying to come up with a power rating / feet but its a little difficult to gauge
and while I'm on it what about blast and area effect?
as you can see I am in dire need of some assitance

I'd keep it simple. Something like 0-5m, no modifier to opposing total to hit. Then add +1 per 10m if on a 'normal' scale. For cosmic level adventures bang that up to 100m or even higher. The problam with line of sight in games is that little mention is made of characters actually being able to see that far. In the DC Heroes game for instance a 20AP energy blast has a range of 1000 miles on the benchmark table (well, nearer 2000 actually). That's great except... well, details became a little hard to see at 100m, at 200m you're squinting and guessing. By 400m the target is a tiny figure and much further than that will require telescopics. I'd suggest telescopic vision as a means of effectively dividing the range, so 10 Telescopic vision means 100m looks like 10m away, or something like that.
With regards the gravity control I'd suggest it would stop at walls - being able to affect things through solids is not something I'd allow usually otherwise Iron Man is in big trouble, and the hulks thick hide counts as a super dense material as well.
With regards area effect get your attack total and have everyone in the area compare their defence to it separately? I have to admit that whilst a big fan of the game I am far from being an expert.
Welcome to the board as well. It's quiet, and has almost died a few times now, but enthusiastic posters turn up for a bit before vanishing again... maybe we need a play by post running to really kickstart the forum into life with regular activity and questions/chat.
