Sub-Mariner (Namor I of Atlantis): Strength 17D, Agility , Intellect 6C, Willpower 10C, Edge 3, Hand Size 5(30). Atlantean Weapons (tridents and nets); Aerial Combat; Atlantean Lore, Oceanography, Intimidation, Politics. Lightning Speed (Swimming only) 6, Resistance to Cold and Pressure +10, Waterbreathing 4, Wings 2. Calling: Majesty (formerly Vengeance). Hindrance: Susceptible to Dehydration.
- Namor is regarded as the "first" Marvel hero, debuting in Marvel Comics #1. He has been both a hero and a villain in the Silver Age on up, notably teaming with Doom on several occasions, as well as allying with Dr. Strange, Hulk and Silver Surfer as a member of The Defenders. At times, he has defended the surface and declared war upon it. In current Marvel continuity, he is opposed to the Superhuman Registration Act, and has formed a pact with Black Panther to support Captain America in is opposition.
He has also ordered military action against the United States, including sinking a nuclear sub, due to a diplomatic group from Atlantis being attacked.
His uses in your game can include a classic team-up, as Namor and your heroes wind up in the same place at the same time to do battle with a nefarious villain (by coincidence or design, such as Arcade capturing both sides or the like.)
Namor is often both lecherous and mildly mysoginistic, so he could develop a liking to a female hero, as well as being condescending towards her. Especially if she's already involved with a hero on the team, this can lead to severe tensions.
He, like most Marvel monarchs, seems to be commonly deposed from his throne, so the heroes could wind up having to venture to Atlantis to restore Namor to the throne.
Namor is prone to bouts of instability when he remains in either the underwater or surface worlds for too long, This can lead him into direct conflict with the heroes, especially if he's being manipulated by a master villain such as Doom.
Last, but perhaps more harrowing, is a vengeful Namor who isn't under the guidance or control of another villain, who decides to wage war on the surface world. This can range from a simple attack by Namor himself to a full-scale war involving scores of Atlantean troops!
