This is where the game will take place. Those interested can of course get involved by picking and choosing over at the Rpg section where I have posted the characters and who is available (in the Marvel Universe rpg section. This is just a quick recap of the first two issues as I can remember and the brief summary of what has happened to get folks up to speed. And so lets begin. Issue 1: Home Is Where the Heart IsIssue 1 introduced the menace and the origins of the creature known as the Abyss ( a obsidian metal orb) and its temptation of a race known as the Eternals. It showed how The Abyss asked for their aid in building it a suit of armor in which to protect itself. Once they had completed this, thinking the Abyss was to bring about the gift of life. It killed them all from its mere touch. It then set about dimensions and alternate universes on its route toward the one world that needed cleansing the most- Eden. The story was told through a voice over by Ruby Heart; Captain of the airship The Partenaire.
She had come in contact with the beast upon her inter-dimensional hopping and pirating. She and her crew barely got away when she saw the devastation is wrecked in its path. She was then given the task of finding a chosen few to help find the weakness to The Abyss before it made its way to Earth. She would use her teleportation device aboard the Partenaire to lock on to those most suitable to the mission.
She would quickly gather up the first bunch of "Heroes" to her cause: The Hulk (who was busy being chased by Major Ross and his Hulk busting special unit.) Spider man (Who was in the process of dueling with arch-nemesis The Green Goblin.) Doctor Doom (who had been tracking the electrical disturbance and had attracted one of Ruby Heart teleportation beams in the hope of gaining its immense and new "alien" power. And finally the monk and legendary Street Fighter-Dhalsim; who had visions of something very deadly coming to destroy the earth and his family. He quickly took up the honour and the challenge of finding a way to defeat the Abyss.
There would be a lot of explaining and introductions before they got underway but they would head en route to pick up two other "heroes" who for some reason were unable to be teleported. It was mentioned that it might be due to damage the ship had taken on the escape from its first encounter with The Abyss.
These "heroes" would be none other than the Wandering Warrior- Ryu and his friend and fellow Street Fighter Ken. The two had tracked Shadowloo members-Bison, Sagat, Vega and Balrog to an old air force base where they were in dealings with a few individuals they had not seen before (Magneto, Omega Red, Mystique and Pyro). Just as Bison's Shadowloo carrier was to leave Ryu and Ken attempted to jump aboard only to be sucked up by the teleportation beam (locked on by Ruby Heart), but due to the size of the carrier it was unable to take the strain and dropped them somewhere in The Savage Lands.
Ken & Ryu were separated as Ryu set out to locate his friend first and then deal with Bison and his new found friends.
End of the first issue.Issue 2: Dark MagiksAs the crew of the airship Partenaire made their way toward their Destination. There would be trouble in paradise as Hulk & Spider man had no real trust for Dr. Doom and his being aboard the ship. Doom assured them that he would be working toward the saving of his kingdom of Latveria and nothing more. (Meanwhile he worked toward trying to harness the power and or take over the Partenaire at some point. He was also protected by two Doom Guard that had been sucked through with him.)
Spider man was still feeling the ill effects of the teleportation device and decided to lay down. When he had not returned from his quarters for some time Hulk went to locate him. However Spider man was nowhere to be found and the only clue was a black burn mark(s) in the floor and directly above in the ceiling.
As they made their arrival to The Savage Lands to find their next couple of passengers they were set upon suddenly by a horrible and unnatural storm. Followed by an attack from the demon Black heart and his demons. Black heart encircled the airship in his black chariot pulled by two nightmare steeds. As he watched his Demons attack the crew and Heroes.
Meanwhile within the Savage Lands, Ryu continued looking for Ken when he was warned by an unsuspecting tag along- (the so-called Street Fighter) Dan Hibiki that on the other side of the river was a T-Rex feasting on the dead carcass of another dinosaur. Ryu had made the jump across the river with ease and landed on the wet sand on the other side. Dan, however was not so lucky and hit the middle of the river with a cannonball and caught the attention of the T-Rex.
Ryu stood still and the T-Rex only took sight of the splashing and flailing Dan as he quickly came to shore. Dan attempted to run but the T-Rex was on him. As Dan awaited his fate at the hands of the prehistoric reptile, he was met with nothing more than it entrails knocking him to the ground. Ryu used his powers to end the great beast and told Ken to keep up. The two would find a place to camp for the night in some old ruins but would both be absorbed by some great light.
On deck of the Partenaire the battle waged against the demons. Dhalsim would bring forth his powers and weaken Black heart long enough for Dr. Doom to unleash a powerful attack on Black heart injuring him and allowing Dhalsim to send him back to his dimension. Ruby Heart would notice that the energy signatures of their two "chosen ones" had vanished but needed to make a stop as the Partenaire had taken damage and they also needed to resupply.

Issue 3: The Savage Lands The giant airship begins its descent from high above the clouds and into the southern most tip of the Gorhan Sea that stirs as it gently flows toward the Savage Lands. Here a small research facility is built and manned by scientists and technicians to study the flora and fauna and the myriad of other creatures that inhabit the Savage Lands. The airship Partenaire comes to rest in the Bay and sails into the port as the docking clamps go off in series. Captain Heart lets everyone know that they are here for repairs and resupply. She quickly barks orders at her crew to get to work as she calls for the Heroes to join her in her Captain's Quarters. When all are present she gives them a run down of what is to happen. "I would ask that while my crew is busy doing the repairs and resupplying here on the ship. That the group of you go and find rest within the research facility. Once you are rested you can set out in finding our missing comrades. This is their last known position."A holo-map appears above her desk and shows a position somewhere in the center of the Savage Lands and what looks to be ruins. "I will send a data pad and tracking device to find your way to the location but you will need a guide. There is a Dr. Sarah Harding, here who has been studying the behavior of the animals and other species here. She would be the best one to give you info on safest routes and what to avoid. Maybe even go with you. She and her team here have helped us before. This facility is funded by Stark Enterprises so we are in good hands. I have done some shipping runs for Mr. Stark in the past and he pays rather well. If there are any questions, feel free to ask."She then turns it over to the Heroes to ask any questions they may have before they leave the ship. |

Hulk takes the Datapad and Tracking device and studies them for a brief second. he then smiles and turns towards the door.
"I don't need rest, so I'll just head into the complex and look for this Sarah Harding. I'm kinda anxious to get on our way, so make sure the crew does their thing. I'll be in touch."
He walks out onto the deck and steps off the edge of the ship landing in front of the complex door with a "soft" <THOOM>.
He walks in and strides dutifully through the main corridor looking for Sarah Harding, or someone who looks important enough to know....

Within seconds Dr.Banner/Hulk figures out how the data pad and tracking device works. He makes his way into the Paleontologists division of the complex. With a few stares from the scientists and other workers he is able to find the lab in which Dr.Harding works.
The lab is full of the usual paleontologist tools and "dressing" one would find in such areas. Dr. Harding is working at putting together a crew for something. She turns after sending some orders and gasps at the size and the sudden look at Hulk. She pauses before getting all starry eyed at the wonder in front of her.
"Well, you must be...the infamous Hulk...er Dr, Banner? Wow, I never would have thought...." She regains her composure and gets down to business. "So you have some of your people lost out there in the Savage Lands huh? Well it is going to be dangerous. We have been tracking a lot of the dinosaur species and have found out how they breed, live, their social structure, territorial habits you name it. But there are other species out there that we are still trying to study and communicate with. There are tribes of Ape-men, Lizard and fish men out there and I have even heard of there being some sort of Avian race but they seem to be too aggressive or find us a threat to do any real study. To understand their way of life and culture.
Dr. Banner, I am in the process of putting together a small research and rescue team to aid you. This is a very good opportunity to make out way into areas otherwise unheard of. We have always had to stay on the edges of the Savage Lands because the deep interior was too dangerous and we lost a lot of people. Mr. Stark is getting a lot of heat for not pushing forward with his research and some backers may pull out. Not that Mr. Stark cares but he wanted to make new ground on research and development here in the Savage Lands particularly.
Now, Mr. Stark has put one of the top guys in charge of this operation. And this man will be leading the military end of the rescue and give my researchers some protection. He is flying in now, the helicopter is en route and should be here any minute. Now if you could follow me we will greet him and you can ask me any questions you have along the way."
She motions for Dr. Banner to follow her toward the landing pad....

Doctor Banner looks around the lab while Dr. harding is talking and studies some of the equipment they use, and looks at some samples. When she mentions the Military she gets his attention.
"Uh, look, maybe this sin't such a good idea. I mean, a research team? They'll only slow me down. And let's face it, I've never really been on good terms with ANY military, be it Army, Navy, Air Force, Shi'ar."
Dr. Harding continued to walk towards the landing pad, oblivious to Banner's protests.
"...<sigh>..."
Hulk sets down the sample and sombrely lurches towards the landing pad....

As they reach the roof of the tallest of the research buildings. The helicopter is just making its approach. A gust of wind blasts Hulk and Dr. Harding from the rotors as it touches down. The side door of the UH-60M Blackhawk opens and out steps Major Guile and his Special Forces team. They begin to get things in order as Guile notices Dr. Harding and a rather large green skinned monster.
Guile was not sure if this was the creature that had been posted by General "Thunderbolt" Ross. He had heard of a "rampaging Hulk" but was not sure if this was him or if he even knew what a "Hulk" would look like. Guile did know that Ross was on a mission to locate the Hulk back at the Air Force Base. Either way, if this was indeed The Hulk, things may go from bad to worse.....

Guile took stock of his surroundings.
"You must be Dr. Harding. I am Major Guile. It is my understanding that I am to lead you and a team of scientists into the interior as I go about my search for the missing people."
Guile then turns his head towards the green skinned creature before him.
"Who is this....creature? Is he one of the natives? Will it be joining us?"

Hulk stared blankly for a moment, between a mix of surprise and relief that there was a Military unit out there that wasn't specifically hunting him down. Then he was actually annoyed that they didn't recognize him and thought he was some brainless monster.
"Hmph...Listen shorty, the way I see it, you'll be joining this "creature" on HIS search for missing people. I don't know what you and the soldier boys have been up to, but you should probably know that we're in the middle of an inter-dimensional incident that is causing various realities to meld and people to disappear to other places, or sometimes vanish completely."
"So...Pack your bags flat-top. Soon as Ms. Harding here is ready, we're moving out."
Hulk turned and smirked as he made his way out...

Taken aback at hearing such a brute creature speak perfect English, Guile quickly composed himself. Outwardly, he didn't show his surprise. He kept his face straight. After all, it would not be good to show such an expression in front of his men.
Guile quickly motioned 2 of his men to block the creature's path.
"STOP!"
"Who are you? If you are to come on this rescue mission, I would like to know who or what I'm dealing with."
As Guile finishes that last statement, he turns to Dr. Harding, indicating to her that she should speak up as well.

Dr. Harding quickly speaks up and seems a little bit uneasy about the situation quite possibly getting out of hand.
"Major Guile, I do not understand what is the problem here? Dr, Banner is quite capable of handling himself and keeping MY people safe. This should be a routine mission for you Major and no reason to get off on the wrong foot. Mr. Tony Stark had been notified of Dr, Banner's arrival as well as Captain Heart and her crew. They are only here for a short time to resupply and fix their ship and they will be leaving once they locate some of their crew who have been lost deep within the Savage Land.
From the looks of things it is within the territory of the Man-Apes and they are not very obliging. I suggest cooler heads prevail and we get to the debriefing room and get things underway. Agreed?"
Dr. Harding looks at Major Guile and Dr. Banner for a response before anyone took another step.
"And I suggest you call off your men, Major Guile." she adds......

Hulk looks back over his shoulder, puts on his famous sneer, and purposefully strides towards Major Guile, paying no notice to the two men between them.
"Who you're dealing with, Rambo, is Doctor Bruce Banner; Nuclear Physicist. What you're dealing with is the Hulk. This isn't the same Rampaging brute that you've heard about. This is a whole new thing that trust me, you do NOT want to be on the bad side of."
Hulk looms over Guile and his men and clenches his fist then after a second he seems to relax, speaking in a much calmer tone.
"Like I said, we have a HUGE problem with some Inter-Dimensional distortions and degradation caused by a cosmic cleaning machine gone wonky. So I suggest we put aside the whole Hulk vs. Military issue and concentrate on the here and now. When it's all over, if you feel like doing your duty like a good boyscout, you can go rustle up some tanks, and we'll play Army Polo. Right now though, we have a crisis on our hands."
"What do you say we do our parts in saving the Universe, Major?"

Unfazed by the Hulk's intimidation tactic, Guile looks into the Hulk's eyes. By this time his men have already drawn and pointed their weapons toward the Hulk.
"If I am dealing with you as THE Hulk, then WE have a problem! You have just shown me that you are more a liability. If I am dealing with you as Dr. Banner, then you will have to understand that matters concerning any military aspect of this mission falls under my jurisdiction. Do we have an understanding? Do anything that will jeapordize the safety of my men and those we are protecting and I'll personally shoot you myself."
Eyeing Dr Harding,
"It is important for me to know the people who I will be resposible for. It is a matter of trust.
<To Dr. Banner> "Can I trust you, Dr. Banner, to keep a level head?"
<To Dr. Harding> "When can you and your team be ready?"

Hulk is unimpressed as he glances around at the soldiers.
"Hmph. Listen Major, You're dealing with Dr. Banner. But Dr. Banner doesn't like having guns pointed at him any more than the Hulk did. I'm not afraid of you, or your soldier boys, or your weapons, but right now, you're not holding an enemy at gunpoint."
He glares at each of the soldiers before leveling his gaze back at Guile.
"So here's how it's going to go. You do your part and keep the good Dr. Harding and her team safe. If things go South, as long as your boys aren't pointing their guns at anything green, you don't have anything to worry about from me. I'll do my part.
Capiche?"

Dr. Harding quickly speaks up.
"If you boys are done with your "Macho Showdown" we need to get to the debriefing room...."
She makes her way out the door but stops for a moment and turns around.
"I am sure you both can find your way there. Just take the elevator to Level 6 and head down the hall. You cannot miss the room it will be on your left. I have to get changed and get things ready and will meet you down there. Lets get along gentlemen. There are some people that need our help..... she looks at the Hulk almost wondering if they are like him .....Or do they?"
She then leaves through the door. Leaving Dr, Banner and Major Guile standing there in an awkward moment....

"Lets not keep the lady waiting."
With that, Guile walks towards the elevator. Stopping after a couple of steps, he turns back.
"At ease, men."
Guile turns back towards the elevator and continues to walk.
